Sometimes, it’s to do with commonsense precautions – like arranging the right vaccinations and travel insurance. Sometimes, we have more specialist advice – like how to keep yourself informed about the risks of terrorism in the country you’re going to.

The essential travel checklist

Make sure you read our travel checklist before you go away – it’s got everything you need to know for staying safe and healthy abroad!

Take our number with you!

Find out why it’s a good idea to always make a note of the nearest embassy’s phone number when you’re abroad.

Travel checklist

We’ve put together this travel checklist to help you plan for your trip abroad and stay safe whilst you are there. We’ve got more advice for specific types of travellers in Your trip.

Before you go:
check our travel advice pages for the country you are visiting. Sign up for email alerts and you’ll get the latest updates for that country
register with our LOCATE service so we can get in touch with you if something goes wrong
find out where the nearest embassy will be – check their website to find out what services they offer and their opening times
don’t travel without insurance – make sure it covers you for any activities you are likely to undertake such as extreme or water sports
travelling within the EU? Then get a free European Health Insurance Card for free or reduced emergency care – you still need full travel insurance though! Also remember, you can call 112 to contact the emergency services in any EU country.
check with your doctor as soon as possible to find out if you need any vaccinations before you travel
make sure you’ve got correct visas for the country you are visiting and that your passport is valid.
All first time adult passport applicants must now attend an interview to verify their identity. It now takes up to six weeks to get a first passport. For more information please visitDirectGov
for certain countries your passport must be valid for 6 months after the date you travel – check the entry requirementsbefore you go
take photocopies of your passport and other important documents and keep these separate from the originals when you travel and/or store them online using a secure data storage site.
make sure you fill in the emergency contact details in your passport. This will make it much easier for us to contact someone if necessary
tell a friend or relative where you are going and for how long for – give them some idea of your itinerary if possible and an emergency contact number
take enough money for your trip and some back-up funds in a mix of cash and travellers cheque – make a note of the cheques’ numbers before you go
invest in a good travel guide to help you plan your trip
driving abroad? Make sure your licence is current and valid. Make sure you are aware of the driving laws in the country you are visiting
check HM Revenue & Customs Travel website for information on duty-free allowances, banned goods etc.
When you are away:
think about what you are doing at all times and trust your instincts – don’t take risks that you wouldn’t at home!
don’t openly display valuables such as mobile phones or digital cameras and consider using a padlock on suitcases or backpacks
find out about local customs and dress, behave accordingly and obey local laws -there may be serious penalties for breaking a law that might seem trivial at home
be careful when taking photographs, videos or using binoculars. Such activities may be misunderstood, especially near military installations
consider taking your mobile with you or renting one whilst you’re away. Store useful numbers such as the local police and the nearest embassy or consulate
check with your service provider to make sure your phone works abroad
check whether it’s safe to drink local tap water- if not, stick to bottled water and avoid salads, non-peeling fruit and ice in drinks
use your judgement when buying and eating food you’ve not prepared yourself
respect the environment – don’t buy wildlife souvenirs, conserve resources like water and don’t drop litter
check import regulations for food and plants before you attempt to bring them back to the UK

Travel Health

Travelling to different climates and environments abroad can expose you to disease and health risks. You should be aware of the dangers and how to stay healthy.

Diseases which aren’t present in the UK such as yellow fever, malaria, rabies and dengue fever are common in some areas of the world.

Vaccinations and immunisations

Visit your GP as soon as possible to check if you need any vaccinations or other preventive measures (such as malaria tablets).

Remember, these treatments aren’t usually available as NHS prescriptions.

General travel health tips

You should also make extra preparations if you have an existing medical condition.

take out adequate travel insurance or you could face a huge medical bill if you fall ill and need treatment
get a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) to entitle you to free or discounted healthcare in European countries
check the health section of our country travel advice before you travel
drink plenty of water in hot climates to avoid dehydration
be safe in the sun – use a high-factor sunscreen and avoid excessive sunbathing between 11am – 3pm
find out the local emergency services numbers and the number of the local hospital
practice safe sex – take condoms with you as quality varies in different countries. HIV and Aids, and other sexually transmitted diseases can be caught worldwide.
Long-distance journeys
don’t wear tight clothing on long-distance journeys
do regular stretching exercises such as flexing and extending your ankles to avoid circulation problems
walk round at regular intervals on long flights
drink plenty of water on flights and avoid drinking too much alcohol.
Consult your doctor before long-distance travel if you:
are pregnant or have given birth in the last 6 months
have a history of blood disorders, deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism
are taking hormonal medication (including the contraceptive pill)
have cancer, heart problems or have recently had surgery.
If you have a pre-existing medical condition
tell your travel insurer about your condition
ask your doctor how the trip might affect you
check local conditions such as climate and pollution levels and consider how you might be affected
carry a doctor’s letter and a copy of any prescriptions
ensure your medication is legal in the country you are visiting – the British Embassy can advise you
learn key words and phrases in the local language for your condition, medication and emergency help
take the same precautions you normally would in the UK if you weren’t going to be at home for a while
if you suffer from a mental illness you should be aware that facilities and local attitudes to mental health problems may differ from those in the UK. Do some research before you go.

HIV and AIDs

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is present worldwide. It is caused by the virus known as Human Immuno-deficiency Virus (HIV). There is not a vaccine or cure for either, and people with HIV remain infected all their lives.

HIV/ AIDS can be contracted through:
unprotected sex with an infected person, who may not know they are infected
the use of infected syringes, medical and dental instruments or anything else that punctures the skin, such as tattooing needles
transfusions of HIV infected blood
passing from an infected mother to her baby during pregnancy, childbirth or breast-feeding.

It cannot be passed on through everyday social contact, insect bites or dirty food and crockery. Nor can it be passed on through kissing, coughing and sneezing.

Protecting yourself against HIV/AIDS
ensure you use condoms with new sexual partners. It is advisable to pack your own as standards may differ from those in the UK or they may not readily be available
don’t share needles and syringes
be aware that some countries do not have the same medical standards as the UK. Equipment may not be adequately sterilised, nor blood screened for HIV and hepatitis B or C
if you require self-administered injections, take an adequate supply of your own needles
don’t have a tattoo, acupuncture treatment or body piercing unless you can be sure the equipment is sterile.

Some countries have introduced HIV antibody testing for some visitors, or require an HIV antibody test certificate. Check with the relevant Embassy (see right for a search facility) before you travel.

If you need to take HIV/ AIDS related medications with you, check it’s legal in the country you’re visiting. It’s best to pack it in your hand luggage and take a letter from your GP with you.

The relevant embassy and your local GP will provide you with more information.

Malaria

Malaria is a major health problem in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. It is spread by the bites of infected mosquitoes.

Some forms can be fatal, others produce a high fever and may lead to kidney, liver, brain and blood complications.

Make sure that you:
Tell your doctor which countries and regions you will be visiting. Malaria parasites are resistant to different types of malaria tablet in different countries, so you need to be sure you’re taking the right ones
Ask your doctor when you should start taking the medication and how long you should take it for. It is essential that you complete the course of tablets
Avoid mosquito bites by using insect repellent. Repellent containing DEET is particularly effective
Keep your arms and legs covered after sunset
Ensure the area where you are sleeping is properly screened and air conditioned if possible. Use a ‘knockdown’ spray to kill any mosquitoes
Sleep under an insecticide impregnated mosquito net

Please note that none of these measures offer total protection.

If you develop a fever or feel ill whilst abroad you should consult a doctor.

If you develop malarial symptoms up to one year after leaving a malarial region, you should seek medical attention and tell the doctor you have been to country where malaria is a risk.

Avian & Pandemic Influenza

The risk to humans from avian flu (commonly known as bird flu) is currently low, so there’s no reason not to travel to affected countries.

There’s comprehensive advice and information on the current situation and background on the World Health Organisation (WHO) website, including a map showing where there have been outbreaks.

Despite the low risk, you should still take precautions if you’re travelling to an affected country:

consult your usual healthcare provider for travel medical advice and further guidance if you have specific concerns
check our travel advice for the relevant country before travelling
avoid visiting live animal markets, poultry farms and other places where you might come into contact with wild, domestic or caged birds
avoid contact with surfaces contaminated with animal faeces or fluids
avoid eating or handling raw and undercooked poultry, egg or duck dishes (normal cooking destroys the virus)
wash your hands regularly, especially before eating or preparing food
don’t attempt to bring any live poultry products back to the UK.

Because of the low risk, UK’s Health Protection Agency does not at present advise tourists visiting affected areas to carry anti-viral drugs.

Avian versus Pandemic Flu

It’s important to distinguish between avian flu, the current disease affecting mainly birds, and pandemic flu, which would affect mainly humans and is at this stage only a possibility.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) warns recent outbreaks of avian flu could trigger a future human flu pandemic, by combining with the influenza virus. It is impossible to predict when this might happen, but if it did, it would be much more serious.

There is presently no vaccine against any future pandemic flu strain. Anti-viral drugs such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu), may be effective in reducing the severity and duration of an influenza illness, but this has not been proven in a pandemic situation. Their effect may be limited if a resistance is developed to the drug.

Further medical information is available from the Department of Health.

How we’ll help in a pandemic

We’re working with the Department of Health to prepare for a possible pandemic.

As a precaution, we have obtained courses of the anti-viral drug oseltamivir (Tamiflu) for treatment of our staff working overseas should they fall ill in the event of a pandemic.

This should enable our staff at overseas missions to continue to work and provide consular assistance to British nationals overseas.
It also fulfils our duty of care to our staff, in line with the actions of many other organisations and UK companies with operations overseas.

As far as possible, we’ll continue to deliver a consular service for British nationals resident or travelling overseas through our network of embassies.

But this may be limited, depending on the scale and severity of the virus in some countries. In extreme cases we may even have to offer evacuation for our staff and their dependents.

British nationals living overseas

If you live in a country affected by avian flu you should be prepared to take personal responsibility for your own health and consider whether you would have access to anti-viral medicine in case of a pandemic. In a pandemic you should seek medical advice before using anti-viral drugs.

British nationals working overseas should speak to their employers about the contingency plans in place for a flu pandemic. Such plans may include access to anti-viral treatment for employees and/or repatriation to the UK.

A flu pandemic could spread extremely quickly and with little warning. Many countries will not be sufficiently prepared and the availability of anti-viral drugs may be limited.

Our embassy staff may be able to provide advice on the availability of local medicines or healthcare but we cannot provide medical treatment.

Some countries might close their borders, international transport could be severely disrupted or halted, and travel could become medically inadvisable. We will not be in the position to offer repatriation to British nationals during a pandemic.

Swine flu

About to travel overseas?

In some instances swine flu might affect your travel plans, you should therefore consult the travel advice for the country concerned.

Before you travel
If you have swine flu, do not travel until you are no longer showing symptoms.
Check to see if your destination is reporting cases of swine flu. You can look on the NaTHNaC website for up-to-date information.
Stock up on waterless alcohol-based hand gels.
You should also consider:
whether you need to go to a swine flu affected area
the risk of getting swine flu at your destination
the level of medical care including access to anti-viral medications in the event you need treatment for an influenza-like illness (fever plus two or more of cough, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches or headache).

You should receive appropriate vaccines and other preventive measures for your destination. This includes seasonal influenza vaccine if you come under the recommended risk groups. See NaTHNaC Health Information Sheet on Influenza
You should obtain comprehensive travel health insurance, and clarify any exclusions to coverage.
You should also check the policy of your carrier or tour operator on transporting people who are ill, or who have been exposed to or diagnosed with the A(H1N1) swine flu virus.
During travel

Influenza is transmitted via the respiratory route and you should exercise sensible precautions:

Follow public health guidance at your destination.
Avoid crowding or mass gatherings.
Where possible avoid close contact with persons who are ill with an flu-like illness.
Wash hands with soap and water; use waterless alcohol-based hand gels when soap and water is not available.
Avoid touching your nose, mouth or eyes, to prevent the spread of germs.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the tissue promptly.
Keep hard surfaces (e.g. door handles, countertops) clean using a normal cleaning solution.
Ensure that children follow similar advice.
Swine flu has not been shown to be transmissible to people through eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products.
There is little evidence of the effectiveness of wearing masks, However, properly fitted special grade masks can be worn in situations such as healthcare settings.
If you fall ill while abroad (especially with flu-like symptoms) you should seek medical assistance. Where possible the British Embassy/High Commission/Consulate should be able to provide British nationals with details of English-speaking doctors and information on the local availability of anti-virals.
After you travel

Travellers who have visited affected areas should monitor their health for seven days after the visit. If you develop a flu-like illness with cough, sore throat, runny nose, headache or muscle aches, within seven days you should:

Check your symptoms.
Limit contact with other people.
Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the tissue promptly.
Wash hands with soap and water.
Keep hard surfaces (e.g. door handles, countertops) clean using a normal cleaning solution.

British nationals abroad

If you live in a country affected by swine flu, you should monitor our travel advice. This might include obtaining access to anti-viral medicine. If you have any concerns over your own health, you should seek medical advice.

If you’re thinking of taking your next ski vacation to Sun Peaks, congratulations! Skiing is possible the best way to spend your hard-earned vacation time. Whether you in it to enjoy time with a special someone, a corporate trip, or some college friends your bound to have the time of your life.

Putting together a ski package can be a daunting task and the aim of this article is to give you some advice to help make things easier and cheaper and give you some basic information on the mountain resort itself.

We’ll start with some basic about the ski resort. It has a base elevation of 4,117 feet and atop elevation of 7,060 feet. Which is a pretty respectable vertical change of 2,891 feet for all you skier looking for some extreme downhill adventure? The resort has a total of 3,678 acres of skiable terrain with the longest run being 5 miles in length! There are a total of 121 ski trails, which break down as follows: 10% for beginners. 58% for intermediate, and 32% for experts. That way you can expect they’re to be something for all level of skiers and snowboarders in your party to enjoy themselves! The lift system is state of the art and contains a total of 12 lifts. Three detachable quads, two quad chairs, one triple, and 6 surface chairs. And with a annual snow of nearly 220 inches there will be plenty of snow for all to hit some fresh tracks!

First to put together a killer package consider purchasing airfare, lodging, lift tickets, and rental equipment from the same business. The more you buy from the same outlet the better deals you typically get. The most important thing I can tell you is to check the distance from the lodging, and rental store to the resort. The closer you are to the resort the better for convenience sake however the more expensive its likely to be. So try to get an idea of how much money you want to spend in relation to how close you want to be to the resort. Another important thing with the lodging is to ask about amenities. Having things like a fireplace, a kitchen which is not only nice but they can save you money of eating out and eating at the mountain lodge while on the slopes!

Last but not least remember to have fun and enjoy yourself you earned this vacation!

For anyone who has been checking out what headphones to buy you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen Skullcandy.

As the name suggests, these are not your standard plain, black headphones. In a wide range of colours and designs, Skullcandy really are a fashion statement. Aimed at the extreme sports market, skateboarding, skiing, surfing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, bmx, moto cross, basketball and motor rally, they really have the designs to suit the market they aim at.

Skullcandy recently announced the Snoop Dogg Skull Crusher, the only headphones with their own sub woofer. Their recent announcement of partnership with NBA will have basketball fans going wild. Available in December the headphones will carry the names and team logos of six of the NBA’s hottest players with plans to launch more in the coming months.

Another innovative idea from Skullcandy is the new iPhone app with a surf report, snow report/forecast, streaming music, Skullcandy videos and skatepark finder.

Skullcandy make every kind of headphones available and in every colour imaginable. They even make wooden bud earphones, the Holua. They also sell loads of merchandise from tee shirts to bandanas, stickers to sweatbands. You can really go for the whole Skullcandy look.

So if you’re choosing headphones and you’re into extreme sport, there is only one – Skullcandy.

But don’t forget all you NBA fans, the best is yet to come.

Even if you’re not into the sports, there is a range of in ear, on ear and over ear headphones, all in terrific colours, you just have to pick the ones to suit your style.

You’ve finally decided to buy the snowboarding gear and equipment needed for your trip this winter. Great! Is this your first time snowboarding? If so there are a few things you need to know about buying the gear and equipment. There is something for everyone, from beginners to the professionals.

When shopping for your gear the first time, your main concern should be your snowboard and snow boots. With boots it can be complicated and frustrating trying to find some that fit comfortably and perform well at the same time. With snowboard boots, they have to match your skill level and must mate with your foot and leg shape.

The best way to find the right boot for your feet is by visiting a snowboard shop, where they can measure your feet and help you narrow your choices down. Don’t be a know it all and try and wear your friend’s new snow boots. You could end up hurting yourself and damaging your legs and feet. This process in finding the right boot takes time so make sure you have plenty of it.

When choosing a snowboard for a beginner, it is best to choose a freebie board because they are flexible enough for beginners and as you get better you don’t have to worry about changing them out right away. They are still stiff enough to hold a hard turn in the snow. You can buy them used in order to save money for other safety gear you may need as a beginner, such as a helmet.

Picking a snowboard takes less time than snow boots but still require some thought. Consult the professionals in your local snowboarding shop, to get help on choosing the right one for you.

Top 3 Considerations To put Together a Sierra At Tahoe Ski Package

Congradulations if you have decided to start planning a ski vacation package to Sierra at Tahoe. With the wide assortment of ski resorts and wonderful scenery you really cant go wrong with this choice. Now whether your planning on going with you college buddies, a special someone, or perhaps for a wedding I hope this article will help give you some advice on how to plan a package. I will also start by giving you some information on Sierra at Tahoe and the resorts there.

First the resorts in the area are many and vary in terrain and atmosphere.

1) Heavenly Resort. Conveniently the resort is right near the casinos of the South Lake Tahoe if that is something your into. Heavenly is one of the highest concept resorts in the state and the largest resort in California with 4,800 acres. It has the longest vertical drop of 3,500 feet and the highest summit of 10,067. On another note it has the largest snow making system in the state as well.

2) Sierra At Tahoe. This resort is located twelve mile west of South Lake Tahoe, has 46 ski trails and covers 2,000 acres with a 2,212 vertical change in elevation. This resort has a great degree of difficulty but is smaller and ore secluded environment. Great for romantic get away.

3) Kirkwood is another Sierra Tahoe Resort. It’s the southernmost resort and is famous for its all night rocking nightlife. The resort itself has 12 lift accessing 65 ski trails and claim an impressive snowfall of 804 inches one year!

Other resorts to check out are: Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Northstar, and mount roses.

When putting together your ski vacation packages consider a few things first. How much money do want to spend, how much can you spend? Next figure out how many people are you taking with you? What kinds of people are you taking with you? This helps give you an idea of what resort will best suit your need for atmosphere. One recurring thing we will cover is expense verses distance, which we’ll explain in a minute.

The next thing to consider is airfare. When your buy your airline tickets always fly into international airports if possible it will save you tremendously on money. You better off renting a car and driving to the resort or taking public shuttles or transportation of sorts rather than flying into a local airport.

When considering buy you ski gear as apposed to renting think about this. When you get rental gear from the resort you will get the best gear available with experts getting you boots and bindings fitted just right. Another thing to keep in mind if your bringing ski’s or snowboards on an airliner the bag are oversized which take much long to check in and check out, not to mention most airliners are charging up to 50 dollars for an extra bag. So that can really add up.

Last but not least, lodging. When looking about ask about what amenities are available. Does the room have a kitchen? This can save you tons on not eating out and depending on how close you are to the ski lifts, it can save you from eating at the lodge on the mountain which believe me is extremely expensive.

Now where money equals distance. When you put your package together make sure to have a map handy. Check how far in relation your lodging and ski rental store is to your chosen resort. The closer you are the better but the more expensive!

Also remember to have fun and relax!

The Wii Fit Plus video game from Nintendo Wii is a game that shows it can be fun with a purpose. It is popular with older kids and adults who like the idea of excising in a different way. It is something new and exciting and so many are flocking to see what it is all about. There are some pros and some cons that make this system what it is; a game that allows you to move around, as most Nintendo Wii games aim to accomplish.

The great thing about this game is that it comes with a neat looking balance board. It is 8lbs so it holds its own weight and is sturdy feeling, so it won`t feel like you`re going to fall off or its going to slide around underneath you. It comes with four extra legs in case you want to put the board on some thick carpet.

The board connects with the game through a wireless connection and it also takes four AA batteries which the game comes with. The board can only handle 330lbs, so if weigh more than that you will have to find another means to tone and get fit.

The Wii Fit Plus is ideal for anyone who wants to give working out a try and who doesn`t want to join a gym or do anymore at home workout videos. It has become frustrating for many people who want to work out but have become tired of the usual videos, yoga mats and bouncy balls. The introduction of the Wii Fit Plus was a welcoming change and a fresh idea.

All ages are reaping the benefits of the Wii fit program. You can find kids doing the activities and trying to stay active and perfect for the long winter months. And moms are gladly buying this game to join in on the kids fun and do something healthy, and seniors are also trying the challenge and love the easy activities and slow pace that they can enjoy from the comfort of their own home.

The game is designed more for tone and balance. That means that if you are planning on using the game to lose weight you may be disappointed. The game does a great job of tracking your weight, body mass index and time spent excersising.

When you register your Mi, you will be required to do a mini fitness test, that once done can be repeated several times in a row if you wish. The game then gives you a breakdown of numbers representing your healthy. You have to enter your age and current weight. It then proceeds to give you medical advice, which some are frowning at because it is not accurate.

There are 18 games to select. The arobic games include activities such as hoola hoops, boxing, dancing and jogging, while the balance activities include things such as snowboarding, skiing, and ski jump. The variety of fun activities might motivate someone to stay with the game and continue it again.

As you head through the game, you have to get through certain spots in the game in order to unlock special games. The only negative aspect is that if the Wii Fit Plus is being used by a few people in the house, then everyone has to pass all required levels for everyone to move on.

The Wii Fit Plus is a great fun game that gives you lots of choice when it comes to activities. It is a motivating game initially, but may have some people yawning as the weeks go by and they are still standing in front of the TV watching a computer animated kid.

Snowboard buying necessitates a few central questions to be answered, but you’ll be encouraged in knowing that you, by now, have the answers. Your, height weight, riding style and foot size are the chief features that will classify the suitable width, shape, stiffness and height of the board you’ll buy.

Although there are other factors to be taken into consideration, a few of the ones you should be familiar about is your riding ability and riding style. The riding style you have a preference for will lend a hand in determining the sort of board you ought to buy. There are a lot of diverse opinions on the countless riding styles there are but I am going to split them up into three main categories of riding styles.

All Mountain and Freeride style-a freeride or all mountain snowboarder make use of the whole mountain. You enjoy catching air, carving and basically all riding aspects. This is the essence of snowboarding. While a clichéd expression in snowboarding, freeride is still the best way to portray the majority of snowboarders. These riders take pleasure in the whole thing about snowboarding: the imagination that can only be understood sliding the half-pipe, the astounding feel of carving a turn on slopes, the sense of flight you get at lift-off from the big-air jump, and the feel of freedom one gets sliding on new snow. It is still inconceivably first-rate fun on spruced slopes. For next in line we will present the following.

Freestyle or Technical riding- involves mostly jumps, trick riding, rail sliding, grabs, jibbing, spins and tearing it up. Technical freestyle riding is usually set up in the parks or near the halfpipe. For a beginning snowboarder, freestyle and technical boards are the best choice. This style is well-liked among the younger snowboarders. Many of today’s technical freestyle riders come to snowboarding with an understanding as a BMX, in-line skater, skateboarder, or other action sports conditions. While the gear specific to this category of rider excels in park and pipe riding, it can also be very adaptable across the whole mountain at less than full-speed. We now will move on to the last category.

Carve/Alpine style-pulls together speed and deep turning and make the most of everything the mountain has to put forward. Alpine riders are repeatedly transitioning from one turn into the next. It is all about hard carving and high speed. Expert skiers who decide to learn snowboarding tend to like the performance of carving boards, although stiffer flex and narrower width can make them intolerant for beginners. These types of riders are recognizable out of the crowd; they are always seen laying a trench in the snow with each turn. These riders “use” a snowboards edge like no others, while using authoritative body movements and gravity as their friend, alpine riders enjoy the sport only when they are attached to the snow.

In conclusion, these are the basics of How to Buy a Snowboard. All the most important issues have been enclosed and hopefully the buying process will be simpler for you.
However please keep in mind that whatever you choose to buy, remember that it is your choice and that nobody has a right to influence you at all.

If you are looking for annual ski insurance, get one that has low cost on both on and off protection for snowboarders and skiers. If you are into winter sports, then this is the best insurance you can sign up for.

You can also save a lot by getting the annual ski insurance. You can travel for as many times as you want and afford and not worry about getting insurance every time because the plan you have is good for a year.

The benefit of an annual ski insurance plan includes coverage of different winter sports. Make sure that the sports you are engaging in have you covered. You should also stay within the authorized areas.

If you incur an accident that is beyond the authorized areas, then the annual ski insurance plan won’t pay for your hospital bills. This is considered to be a personal liability that you have to shoulder.

They can only pay for your accident if it wasn’t entirely your fault. Now skiing in the restricted area is obviously an irresponsible action on your end.

If you are not sure with the plan that you are getting, it is interesting to note that there is an annual ski insurance plan which allows you to refund your entitlement.

In doing this, the premium is made available for you in just 14 days upon obtaining the policy. That is assuming the policy begins on the date that has not been breached.

An annual ski insurance is like a security blanket. Look at it as a 24 hour medical emergency that will be there for you just in case you need to be rescued. Some packages come with the search and mountain rescue service if you signed up for the Rescue and Repatriation feature.

Some plans also cover the property that has been damaged or lost. If your skis were damaged by let’s say an avalanche, then the insurance company can pay for the expenses.

Insurance providers offer the best service they can to their travel insurance customers. They know that by doing a good job they can develop their firms and more people will sign up for the annual ski insurance that they offer.

Word of mouth is good and a stellar review on insurance plans will surely benefit an insurance provider.

That is another thing to look out for if you are searching for the right annual ski insurance for you. Get one that has good reviews from the insurance holders. It says something about the professionalism of the people involved.

If you’re signing up for their services, ask the questions you have in your mind.

The way they answer your inquiry and handle you as a customer also say something whether they are the right insurance provider to get your annual ski insurance plan from or not.
